November 2021
November, 2021

We lost a couple of our members last month. Jack Grime, a lifetime and longtime member of the VFW. Scot Dejager an AMVETS member. God bless their families and prayers to them.
The Auxiliary has their fish fry the 5th of Nov. Lifeline is here Thurs, the 11th. Veterans Day is the 11th. Our service is at 11 A.M. The Posts November meeting is postponed until the 18th at 5 P.M due to Veterans Day on the 11th. The VFW has the Steak Fry on the 13th.
I am getting a team together for Thanksgiving Dinner on the 25th. I am in need of donations and workers. I would appreciate any and all help with both. The community really appreciates these dinners.
Everyone have a safe and wonderful holiday.
God Bless our troops, deployed and at home, and our United States of America.
Take care.

Hard to believe that Labor Day has come and gone.
The Auxiliary will be having our fish fry Friday, November 5th from 5:00-7:00.
The Auxiliary will be holding their monthly meeting Monday,
November 8th @ 6:00.
Keep an eye on the activities calendar and come and help and participate when you can.
We are looking forward to getting new members and working with all of you at the different activities.
Be blessed and stay healthy!
Jim O’Neil
President, VFW 4249 Auxiliary
Our AMVETS Department of Michigan has had a little shuffling at top. The newly elected Department Commander was offered and subsequently accepted a position at the National level.
The Commander Elect was previously Departments Executive Director. When she was elected Department Commander it left a vacancy at that position, which was in the process of being filed. Then when she left Department and went to National, it was decided to leave the Executive Director position open. So, I’m not too certain how that will work out..
Locally we are trying to recruit AMVETS members to attend Fremont’s Veterans Day ceremony, which is to be held Wednesday the 10th. They will be having a parade featuring the Budweiser Clydesdales. While we really have have no hope of attracting enough members to actually march, we can still make a showing and hopefully recruit a new member or two.
The Fremont Heroes Tribute Parade is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 4 p.m.
We would like to thank AMVETS Riders Chapter 114 from Elk Rapids, MI for stopping at the post on Oct 17. We were able to provide a nice lunch for them which they were very appreciative of.
We would like to wish all of our snowbirds safe traveling.
Have a great month.
