The River County Chamber of Commerce is planning a parade for the Logging Festival on Sunday the 3rd of September at 1 P.M.

We are hoping to have a float and a marching unit representing the VFW Honor Guard and Auxiliary.

The August post meeting will be held Thursday the 19th at 5:30 p.m. All members are encouraged to attend the monthly meetings.

Monday evening Cornhole will begin again in September. Exact dates are not available yet.

We will also be hosting a new and different Cornhole tournament on Tuesday evenings. This one is led by our Sr. Vice Commander Cale Rogers. In order to accommodate this event it was necessary for AMVETS Post 4250 to move their meetings to the 1st Thursday at 7 P.M.

The August Steak Fry will; be held Saturday the 12th and is hosted by the AMVETS.

The Euchre group continues to meet on Tuesdays and Fridays at 6:30 p.m. and is open to anyone.

The Auxiliary will be having their monthly fish and shrimp fry Friday, August 4th from 5:00-7:00p.m.

The Auxiliary will be holding their monthly meeting Thursday, August 17th @ 7:00. Please come out for the meeting because we need at least 5 people in order to hold a meeting. Thank you.

Keep an eye on the activities calendar. Please help when you can.

We are looking forward to getting new members and working with all of you at the different activities. With the new members and officers that joined the Post, the Auxiliary would welcome any eligible family members to join.

Great news! Our May meeting produced the final election for 2023-2024 Post officers. Our new Commander will be Richard (Pops) DeVoe with Lora DeVoe as 1st Vice Commander and Dan Boutell, 2nd Vice Commander. A full list will appear on the Post website very soon.

Our August meeting was held Thursday the 1st at 7p.m. Our most pressing issue was a request by the VFW to move our meeting nights to the 1st Thursdays. This, in order to accommodate a second Cornhole tournament on Tuesday evenings. This change was approved by the members. Subsequently, our next meeting will be Thursday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m.

Post 4250 is this months host for the monthly Steak Fry. As per usual, help is needed. If you can be available it will certainly be appreciated.
