The River County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Logging Festival with a parade on Sunday the 3rd of September at 1 p.m.
The VFW District 12 meeting was held on Sunday the 20th of August at VFW Post 7729 on Apple Ave. Local members present were Bill Simon, Dick Knowles, Cale Rogers, and Stan Wiggers.
Cornhole tournaments will start again this month. There will Cornhole on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. Starting Tuesday the 5th with a blind draw. Leagues begin the 10th, 11th, and 12th.
The September Steak Fry will be held Saturday the 9th and is hosted by theVFW.
The September Post meeting is Thursday the 14th at 5:30 p.m. All members are encouraged to attend the monthly meetings.
The Euchre group continues to meet on Tuesdays and Fridays at 6:60 p.m. and is open to anyone..

The Auxiliary will not be having their monthly fish and shrimp fry in September due to the Labor Day holiday. We look forward to having the fish fry the first Friday of October.
The Auxiliary will be holding their monthly meeting Thursday, September 21st @ 7:00. Please come to the meeting because we need at least 5 people to hold a meeting. Thank you.

We are looking forward to getting new members and working with all of you on the different activities. With the new members and officers that joined the Post, the Auxiliary would welcome any eligible family members to join.
