A Newaygo County Korean War veteran that went missing in action on 2 August 1950 was finally laid to rest on 29 June 1924. Bridgeton resident Thomas A Smith was only 17 years old when he died in Korea. The services were performed by the active U.S. Army National Honor Guard. Several officers from VFW Post 4249 were present. Also officers from Fremont VFW, Grand Haven VFW, and a Veterans Riders club from Indiana.

The Croton July 4th parade will be held Saturday July 6. We have several members who will be marching as well as a trailer for those who are unable to do the walk. For those that wish to participate you should be at the Croton American Legion by 11 A.M.

The July Post meeting will be Thursday the 11th at 5:30 p.m.

The July Steak Fry will be Saturday the 13th and is hosted by the Auxiliary.

Cornhole tournaments are held on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. Pool leagues are Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 1:30. Euchre starts at 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and 6:30 on Fridays.

The Auxiliary will be having their monthly fish and shrimp fry on Friday, July 5th

We will also be hosting this months Steak Fry on Saturday July 13. Serving from 5-7 p.m.

We will be holding our monthly meeting Thursday, June 20 @ 7:00. Please come to the meeting because we need at least 5 people to hold a meeting. Thank you.

We are looking forward to getting new members and working with all of you on the different activities. With the new members and officers that joined the Post, the Auxiliary would welcome any eligible family members to join.
