Well here we are, April already, with us in the same boat as the VFW as far as membership is concerned. More importantly, participation by the members that we already have.
Our first nominations for 2022/2023 officers take place this month on Tuesday the 5th at 7 p.m. I don’t mean to keep beating the same drum, but we NEED members to help fill our officers roster. We are just like the VFW Post in that without officers we cannot have a post.
I have been making phone calls trying to get our existing members to attend the meetings. We have picked up a few new members from the notice that was posted in social media as well as in the canteen.
I’m hoping that the realization that it all could suddenly end in Newaygo has wakened enough people who recognize the value that we bring to the Veterans as well as the community.
Our March burrito night was pretty much a success, adding much needed revenues to our checkbook as well as a very good night at the bar for the VFW.
Our next burrito night will be on April 23rd, serving from 5-7 p.m. with Karaoke at 6:30.
Have a great month and I hope to see some of your faces at our meeting.

Commander, AMVETS Post 4250
