December 2021
December, 2021

Our Thanksgiving dinner was not very well attended. I think that it probably has more to do with our not having Thanksgiving Dinner last year due to the covid shutdown.
I would like to thank Craig, Jody, and the rest of folks who helped with the preparation and serving. Jody was a big help because I’m not a chef and didn’t know how to make all of the dishes. Cec did an awesome job of busing. It all could not have been possible without the donations that we received. Thank you to all that contributed.
The VFW has the steak fry this month on the 11th.
Pearl Harbor day is December 7.
Monday night burgers are canceled until Jan 17, 2022.
Have a great Christmas and Holidays. God bless the troops at home and deployed. God bless the American people.

I hope that you all had a Happy Thanksgiving holiday! Hard to believe Christmas is just around the corner.
The Auxiliary will be having our fish fry Friday, December 3rd from 5:00-7:00.
**The Auxiliary will be holding their monthly meeting Thursday, December 2nd @ 6:00 because of other activities going on at the Post.
Keep an eye on the activities calendar and come and help and participate when you can.
We are looking forward to getting new members and working with all of you at the different activities.
Be blessed and stay healthy!

Well here we are at the end of 2020 and I’m singing the same song as everyone else, membership.
This post was started back in 2014 with one thing in mind. That is finding more ways to help veterans. We had some pretty good years doing just that, but the last couple have found us struggling with barely enough members on meeting night to field a quorum. I’d like to see that change in 2022.
We have basically the same types of programs that the VFW and American Legion have, so the only real difference is membership requirements. AMVETS only requirement is a DD214 showing an honorable discharge or active duty status fulfills our needs.
If you are a veteran you have already done more to help your country than 80 plus percent of the population. But this is not about helping the county per se. It’s about helping the people like you who did sign the blank check giving Uncle Sam full control of you, up to and including your life.
There are some who want to know what’s in it for them and part of me gets that. There are some tangibles, but the satisfaction of knowing how powerful your contributions are in the lives those that we try to help is enough for me. In the end, that does help the country too.
So if you or someone you know is a veteran, we sure could use your help. Please consider joining. Find out how much fun you can have helping fellow veterans.
Have a great month.
