March 2022
March, 2022
First nominations for 2022/2023 Post officers will be at our meeting on March 9. This, once again will determine if we will be able to continue operations as a VFW. As per VFW Bylaws our roster of post officers must be complete after elections. If it is not, VFW Department of Michigan is required to take possession of our charter and our building.
The meeting is at 5p.m. on the 9th.
For those who are unaware, when Commander Reid passed the Sr. Vice Commander automatically became Commander. The Jr. Vice Commander became Sr. Vice Commander. The Jr. Vice seat will remain vacant until the next election.
The Aux. has the fish fry on the Friday the 4th.
The steak fry is on the 12th from 5-7 p.m. with the VFW hosting. Karaoke follows starting at 6:30.
The Euchre group continues to meet on Tuesdays and Fridays at 6:30 p.m.
Bill Simon,
Commander VFW Post 4249
AMVETS Post 4250
We wish to thank all those who helped make our Burrito night in January a great success. Also to apologize for having to skip the February event because of prior hall rental obligations.
March is now upon us so mark the 26th for burrito’s on your calendars. Serving from 5-7 p.m. followed by Karaoke at 6:30 until closing.
AMVETS, Department of Michigan sounds to be getting it back together. For those interested, their Mid-winter SEC meeting is March 11-13 at Higgins Lake Lodge.
We, AMVETS Post 4250, also have elections for Post officers coming up shortly. We are just one month later in the year than the VFW, with first nominations at the April meeting followed by second nominations and elections at the May meeting.
Membership and participation are still very much needed in order to keep our post viable. If you are a Veteran and wish to help other Veterans please consider joining AMVETS.
Have a great month.
Dan Boutell
Commander, AMVETS Post 4250
